kbuild software package provides framework for writing simple makefiles for complex tasks, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install kbuild
kbuild is installed in your system.
Make ensure the kbuild package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep kbuild *
You will get with kbuild package name, version, architecture and description in a table
